The Infinite Happiness

This work of 2015 directed by artists, filmmakers and directors Ila Bêka e Louise Lemoine, focuses on residential model 8 House complex by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, located in the suburbs of Copenhagen. The Italian-French duo accompany us on a visit to this “vertical village” – nominated World Best Residential Building in 2011 – with their usual cinematic style: by following the daily life and listening to the views of those who live therein. It is a celebration of condominium life that seems to rise from mistakes made in the past, in the 60s and 70s and that were known, especially in Italy, as big “barracks-like” blocks, often the antechamber to ghettoization. Here, on the other hand, despite being on the edge of the city, everyone is enthusiastic because choosing to live in 8 House proves to be a lifestyle choice. Once so described, architecture seems to achieve the original intent of bettering life and making it more people-friendly.
