Stanley Kubrik {One-point perspective} + Ozu//Passageway

Remix as a new aesthetic form. One of the viral success stories of the internet was bringing fame to the artist known as ::kogonada, for his video collage. Amongst his famous “supercuts” is Stanley Kubric {One-point perspective} and Ozu//Passageway that are respectively his very special tributes to directors Stanley Kubric and Yasujirô Ozu, the latter, his professor of cinematography. He extrapolates from both the particular directing technique by using frames from their films that best demonstrate it. In particular, what is evident of the former is the perspective of the visual lines which always converge into one single point (one-point perspective) and of the latter, the iconic dimension of the narrative structure. They are juxtaposed one next to the other in rapid sequence, thus rendering the original maniacal obsession of a visual, emotional and aesthetic point of view. Indoors, cities, streets and objects keep the style of each intact.
